About Our Vegan Silk
We gave our vegan silk a fancy name to make it sound more glamorous, but in reality, it’s just cotton trash. Cupro or vegan silk is made from cotton waste. Cupro fabric is made of regenerated cellulose fibers from recycled cotton linter; cupro material is breathable and regulates temperature like cotton, drapes elegantly, and feels like silk. It’s one of our favorite fabrics to work with because it haves excellent drape and fall while feeling fresh.
This fabric It’s made from cotton linter, a waste product of cotton. Reducing waste greatly. The other great thing about vegan silk is that It’s produced in a closed-loop like Tencel and Lyocell, which means that the chemicals used can be extracted afterward, and the water can be reused.
You can compost it after because vegan silk is made from 100% plant-based materials, so it’s biodegradable. Lastly, this can be washed in water, avoiding dry cleaning, which is highly toxic to the environment. (read on our blog how to care for vegan silk)
